Bow Area Overview
Bow has reinvented itself to attract middle class professionals from the nearby City and Docklands development.
Bow Property Types & Architecture
Council tower blocks can still be seen on the skyline but this is offset by the attractive two and three storey Victorian terraces in the roads north of Bow. Tredegar Square is edged by Georgian brick an stucco terraces and the area around Victoria Park and the new Mile End Park prove very popular.
It is still possible to pick up a bargain of an ex council property or a new apartment in the 700 plus Bow Quarter development.

Roman Road is the main shopping area with the famous market. Also the recently opened Bow Wharf on Grove Road and there is a Tesco superstore by the Bow Flyover.
This area is not known for its night life, but a few pubs and restaurants can be found. However the Docklands is within easy reach.

How much will I have to pay?
Each year, every local authority will set a rate of council tax for each valuation band. The amount you have to pay depends on the value of your property and the current rates for your local council. Not everyone will have to pay the full amount of council tax. There are three ways in which your council tax bill may be reduced.
Reductions in council tax:
- the reduction scheme for disabled people
- discounts (i.e. If only one person lives in a property they will get
a 25% discount on the council tax bill)
- council tax benefit and second adult rebate
